DAY 1
CUSCO – KM 104 – WIñAYWAYNA – INTIPUNKU – MACHU PICCHU (L)

● Arrival to Cusco: 21:56 pm
● Minimum altitude: Km 104 – 2170 masl/ 7119.4 ft.
● Maximum altitude: Intipunku archaeological site - 2750 masl/ 9022.3 ft.
● Distance covered: 9 kms/ 5.6 mls (5.5 hours walking approx.)
● Meals included: Healthy snacks, exclusive picnic lunch on the trail.

Commencing your first day bright and early, in order to satisfy your hunger with breakfast at your hotel, or if you wish to rather have a boxed breakfast, please communicate with the hotel staff so that they can prepare that for you and you can have it during your journey to Poroy Train Station.
Our View Latin America representative will collect you from your hotel in your private form of transportation. After spending an approximation of 40 minutes on the road, we will reach Ollantaytambo (2792 mts/ 9160.1 ft) where we will head to the train station and board the train in order to get to Km 104 where the beginning of our trekking point is located. Promptly arriving at Km 104 (2170 mts/7119.4 ft) your guide will share important glimpses of story about the Inca Trail you will embark on, as well as directions and guidance for your hike.

A stop at the archaeological site of Chachambamba (2178 mts/7145.7 mts) is listed on the tour, so that you can gain some knowledge about the site. It is located within a tropical forest, you can gander at the views and ask as many questions as you desire. In continuation, after spending 3 hours walking, you will come face to face with the archaeological site of Wiñaywayna (2650 mts/8694.2 ft). Your tour guide will explain the location and its history to you. Named after the beautiful orchid that grows on the premises of Wiñaywayna, meaning “Forever Young”, you will enjoy a delightful picnic in this tranquil location. Walking for a futher 1.5 hours through steep stairs, you will reach the Sun Gate, translated to Quechua, Intipunku (2750 mts/9022.3 ft). Take in the breathtaking sight of Machu Picchu, and the surrounding valley as the sun begins to set on this magical area. After spending a little bit of time admiring the view, you will begin your descent for an hour in order to arrive at Machu Picchu.

After all that hiking, you will arrive at your desired destination, Machu Picchu (2430 mts/7972.4 ft). If you are blessed, you will be able to witness the incredible sunset. You will then be taken to the hotel of your choice. Now that you have settled into your hotel, you will speak with your guide to know what time will be most suited for you to be collected you the following morning. Enjoy a wonderfully curated dinner that is included with your accommodation, and then make sure you get plenty of rest for the following day’s adventure.

DAY 2
MACHU PICCHU - AGUAS CALIENTES – POROY - CUSCO (B)

The day has arrived, we hope you have lots of energy to make the most of your time at the wonderful World Wonder of Machu Picchu. You will take the bus in order to breach the citadel. It is a short 30-minute journey. During the peak seasons between April to July, queues may be a little longer than usual but we assure the wait will be worth it!

You will be given an in depth tour as you wander the premises of this destination. Ask every question that you have, as your guide will be more than happy to answer. Discover the theories and secrets of this impressive citadel and its enclosures. Afterwards, you will some time at your leisure to get lost and captures theses precious moments with many photos. In honor to celebrate your time at Machu Picchu, a scrumptious lunch at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge which is of course included with the program.
Once you have digested your lunch, you may want to take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, it will be 30 roughly minutes. Feel amazing as you board the exclusive Pullman wagon, which will take you back to Poroy train station.

Once you arrive at Poroy train station, a View Latin American representative will be present to make sure that you board your private transportation and promptly arrive back at your hotel in Cusco. The journey will take about 40 minutes of the road.
