Is glamping suitable for families and children?

Glamping is a fantastic experience for families and children, offering a unique way to explore Peru’s stunning landscapes. However, due to the challenging nature of these treks—with long days and varying conditions—we generally only recommend trekking for children aged 10 and older.

That said, if your child has prior hiking or trekking experience, we’re happy to discuss options that suit their abilities. For families seeking a less demanding adventure, we offer a wide range of child-friendly day trips and excursions, designed to be engaging, memorable, and perfectly suited for younger travelers. Let us help create lifelong memories for the entire family!

Our goal is to ensure your trip exceeds your expectations and becomes an unforgettable experience crafted just for you.

Do I need to be an experienced trekker to go glamping on the Inca Trail?

No worries if this is your first trekking experience—we’re thrilled to be part of your journey! Our glamping treks require a moderate level of fitness, as you’ll be hiking at high altitudes over uneven terrain. To fully enjoy this adventure, it’s important to feel comfortable walking for several hours on varied terrain. That said, we offer a range of options, including shorter treks and less demanding day trips. If you have any concerns, simply speak with your travel designer, who will create an itinerary perfectly tailored to your needs and comfort level.

What are the packing recommendations for a glamping trek?

On a glamping adventure, having the right gear is essential. While we take care of all the major necessities—such as sleeping accommodations, cooking, and bathroom facilities—you’ll want to come prepared with a few key items to ensure your comfort and convenience. Carry a small backpack for essentials, such as a camera, sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats for both the cold and the sun. Broken-in hiking shoes with sturdy tread are a must for navigating uneven terrain. Layers are crucial at high altitudes, where the weather can change rapidly. Bring lightweight and warm options to adapt to sun, rain, wind, and cold.

Are there bathroom facilities at the glamping campsites?

Yes, all of the campsites have bathrooms. We provide a shower tent with heated water at each campsite, and a portable toilet for when we are on the trail.

Can I combine glamping on the Inca Trail with other activities in Peru?

We are happy to be part of your journey in Peru and would be delighted to assist with every aspect of your travels beyond our luxury glamping treks. As a locally based operator, we specialize in creating personalized experiences across Peru, from organizing accommodations and city tours to planning immersive excursions.

Our deep connection to the region allows us to craft a journey that goes beyond simply seeing the sights—helping you dive into the heart of Peru’s rich culture, heritage, and natural beauty. Simply connect with your travel specialist to begin customizing the rest of your Peruvian adventure!

When is the best time to go glamping in Peru?

The best time to trek in Perú is between May and October, during the dry season, when the sky is clear and the sun shines brightly. Trekking is also possible in March, April, and November, as the rainy season is just beginning and winding down. Treks can be done in December, January, and February, but weather conditions vary significantly during the height of the rainy season. Some treks may remain open year-round, while others may close for safety reasons due to heavy rain and muddy trails. To ensure the best experience, we recommend discussing your plans with your travel specialist.

Are glamping sites eco-friendly and sustainable?

We are deeply committed to responsible tourism, ensuring every aspect of our operations reflects ethical and sustainable practices. This includes carbon offsetting all itineraries and working closely with local communities, particularly the porters who support our treks. By traveling with us, you directly contribute to their well-being through fair wages, insurance, and ethical employment standards.
